Probate is an application to the Supreme Court of New South Wales that confirms the validity of a will. Probate is required to allow the Executor(s) of a will to deal with the property held by the deceased in accordance with their wishes. Letters of Administration is a similar application to the Supreme Court of New South Wales and is required where a person has died intestate, that is without a will.
